What Central Vacuum Accessories Do You Need?

Are you familiar with the range of central vacuum accessories out there? Central vacuum systems offer all kinds of benefits when it comes to your home cleaning needs. They are a convenient, quiet, and simple way to ensure easy cleanup anywhere in your home.

So what central vacuum accessories should you have handy? Of course, this will ultimately depend on the type of central vacuum system in question.

Here’s a comprehensive list of accessories and products for all your cleaning needs.

Central Vacuum Accessories - Kits

Having the right central vacuum accessories is essential to ensure optimal cleaning power in all situations.

We set up central vacuum systems to make all of your cleaning needs fast and straightforward. They work through a network of tubing that runs through your walls and to the central power unit. Did you know that you can purchase central vacuum products in kits specific to the type of vacuum you have and the cleaning you are doing?

Kits allow you to purchase multiple accessories at once, saving time and money and offering optimal convenience.  We offer a variety of central vacuum accessories in kits designed to match modern decor (ask us about colour options) and clean all kinds of surfaces, including:

  • Wood
  • Tile
  • Marble
  • Vinyl
  • Carpets
  • Rugs
  • Walls
  • Ceilings
  • Upholstery
  • Drapes

Our central vacuum kits include one hose, a rack, caddy, multiple powerhead tools, and specialty brushes.

Each kit offers premium cleaning to a specialized surface or set of surfaces and comes with a 5- or 10-year warranty.

Central Vacuum Replacement Filters

Anyone who has ever owned a vacuum probably has had the experience of needing a replacement filter. As with any vacuum system, you need to get the correct type of filter for it to work properly (or at all).

In most cases, we recommend changing the filter once a year. It should be pretty easy to replace your filter on your own. Be sure not to wash it or get it wet.

Here’s how you can replace your filter:

  1. Remove the dirt canister from the power unit.
  2. Remove the cone by pulling it straight down.
  3. Turn the filter latch ¼ of a turn to remove the filter.
  4. Replace the filter and secure the latch.
  5. Replace the cone and the canister.

Our experts know exactly which filters go with which systems. We’ll help you find replacement filters you need and answer other questions about central vacuum system maintenance.

Hoses

One of the most important of all central vacuum accessories is, of course, the hose.  Our Vacuflo systems are so easy to use because of our lightweight hoses. They’re incredibly durable and made to resist kinking.

Having the proper hose for your system and ensuring the correct installation is essential to get the best clean.

Our hoses are available in standard lengths from 30 to 35 feet with special orders for longer and fit into direct connect SuperValves.  Replacement hoses are available, as well as parts such as hose socks. We can help you determine which parts and other central vacuum accessories you need.

Central Vacuum Attachments and Power Heads

One benefit of central vacuum systems is that they have a potent motor that is several times stronger than regular vacuums. Plus, they are powerful enough to suck all particulates right into a central area instead of redistributing it through the house as regular vacuums tend to do.

When it comes to central vacuum accessories, you will get a powerful and precise clean, and this is even more the case when you have the suitable types of attachments for the surface you are cleaning.

You can find an attachment meant for almost any type of surface — here are some examples:

  • Dusting brushes
  • Upholstery tools
  • Auto detail tools
  • Wood floor brushes
  • Brushes specifically for pet hair
  • Brushes designed for fans and blinds
  • Crevice tools
  • Extension wands
  • Angled adaptors
  • Stair upholstery tools

Powerheads may be turbine (air-driven) or electric. Air-driven powerheads don’t run on electricity but instead use the power from your central system. They offer deep cleaning action with less noise.

Inlet Valves

When we install a central vacuum system, we’ll set it up in such a way that fits your home and cleaning needs.  We install multiple inlet valves throughout the house, usually one for every 600 square feet. So for a 2000 square foot home, you will probably have 4-5 inlets.

We’ll make sure you have suitable inlet valves for your system and can replace them as necessary.
